IDC CEMA Privacy Policy - Data Protection

At IDC we are committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect about you to process orders and to provide a means for informing you of our future research publications and services. Please read on for more details about our privacy policy.

Controllers of personal information
Any personal information provided to or to be gathered by IDC is controlled primarily by the Director of Marketing and Operations, IDC EMEA, IDC UK Ltd, British Standards House, 389 Chiswick High Road, London W4 4AL.

What information do we collect? How do we use it?
When you order, we need to know your name, email address, delivery address, credit or debit card number and the card's expiry date (if applicable). This allows us to process and fulfil your orders. We also ask for your telephone number, which enables us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order. We may also use the information we collect to notify you occasionally about important new research publications and services that we can provide. If you would rather not receive this information, you may opt out by emailing us at privacy@idc-cema.com.

IDC does not provide your client account information to any third party. Specifically:
  • We do not sell your account or usage information
  • We do not report usage or user information to any third party
  • We do not accept any advertising on our site and therefore have no information reporting requirements to any third party.
IDC does not store or maintain your credit card information
For credit card users, we move the transaction information from our Web server to our financial systems and do not maintain your credit card information in our user database.

Your consent
By using our web site, you consent to the collection and use of this information by IDC. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post any such changes on this page or notify you directly so that you are always aware of the information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.

Please note that the information you enter will be transferred outside the European Economic Area for the purposes of processing by IDC, in order to maintain customer information for you at other IDC sites. Any transferal of personal information outside the European Economic Area is carried out in circumstances ensuring that the information is processed only in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the relevant national Data Protection Act.

By submitting your order, you consent to this transfer. IDC may occasionally notify you about important future research publications and services which will also use your personal information. If you would rather not receive this information, you may opt out by sending an email to privacy@idc-cema.com detailing your name and address; we will then remove your details from our database.

Corporate Administrators at our client organizations have access to usage statistics for their account base.
If your user account is part of a corporate account, then a Corporate Administrator at your company may access your user and usage information. Corporate Administrators can access user information only for individuals within their corporate profile.

Cookies
idc.com uses cookies to store your login name and to maintain your presence when you log into the site as long as the browser is active (30 minutes of inactivity and you are automatically logged out). The cookies tell idc.com only who you are, and that you have logged in to the site successfully. The identity cookie resides only on the computer that you used to login to idc.com.

No one external to IDC has access to user information for individual accounts (individuals not part of a corporate account).
